Background
Introduction
On 19 February 2024, the Government announced that seven medical institutions in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (“GBA”) have been included in the Elderly Health Care Voucher Greater Bay Area Pilot Scheme (“GBA Pilot Scheme”) to enable eligible Hong Kong elderly persons to use health care vouchers to pay for outpatient healthcare services provided by designated departments/services of the GBA pilot medical institutions.
Under the GBA Pilot Scheme, the seven medical institutions which had started to accept the use of vouchers by elderly persons from June to September 2024 and their respective commencement dates are as follows:

The Government announced on 2 May 2025 that 12 more medical institutions have been included in the GBA Pilot Scheme. All 12 medical institutions included in the GBA Pilot Scheme provide integrated services (including dental services). Eligible Hong Kong elderly persons may use vouchers to pay for the fee of outpatient healthcare services provided by the designated clinics/departments at the pilot medical institutions starting from the dates below:
