Healthcare Service Providers
|
The Elderly Health Care Voucher Pilot Scheme mainly subsidises the private primary healthcare services (private means not funded or subsidised by the Government). The following healthcare professionals who are registered in Hong Kong are eligible to participate in the Elderly Health Care Voucher Pilot Scheme: medical practitioners, Chinese medicine practitioners, dentists, chiropractors, registered nurses and enrolled nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, radiographers and medical laboratory technologists (the use of services provided by allied health professionals and laboratory test services is subject to the current referral arrangement). Optometrists (in Part I of the register) will also become eligible to join the Scheme and make voucher claims for their clients with effect from 1 January 2012.
Vouchers can be used by a voucher recipient of a validated account to settle the service fees of an enrolled healthcare service provider who can redeem the vouchers in arrears on a monthly basis. Healthcare service providers who wish to participate in the Elderly Health Care Voucher Pilot Scheme should enroll with the Department of Health in advance. The enrolled healthcare service providers will be issued with the Scheme logo for display outside their practices for identification. They will also use a username, a personal password and a security token for accessing the eHealth System. |
